“‘Cursed is the cheat who has an acceptable male in his flock and vows to give it, but then sacrifices a blemished animal to the Lord. For I am a great king,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and my name is to be feared among the nations.’” (Mal 1:14)

Through the sacrifice of Jesus, we are freed from the curse of the breach of the Law. We are now subject to grace and the blessing of Abraham because we live by faith.

The essence of this passage is when we promise to give of our best, we should keep our word. In those moments where we feel full of the power of God and sense His presence, we are quick to say we will do this and that and promise to give and achieve or follow a set of standards. We would do well to keep our word or promise what we intend to fulfill. He is Almighty God. If we have that relationship right, we are more likely to keep our word with those around us at work.

Quick Prayer: May I always be a person of my word. Amen.
