How Do I Get Exalted?

“Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.” (1 Chronicles 29:12 )

If there is one truth in business that I have come to understand it is this: Do it God’s way, and let Him take care of the consequences. He is in control.

Sometimes in the cut and trust of a brutal commercial world we forget that truth. But He is, and always will be. His ways are not our ways. Sometimes we all need to stop, pray, and understand His way in a circumstance. Often it is the opposite of how we would implement or react. What will people say, will I miss out on that promotion, deal or sale? No; God is not only in control; it is also He who exalts, He who promotes, and He who allocates deals.

Plus you are given the strength to stand whilst waiting for the answer from heaven. Now that is a good deal!

Quick Prayer. “Funny though it sounds Lord, I am available to be exulted in your time.” Amen

Riches for God?

“In a loud voice they were saying: ‘Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!’” (Rev 5:12)

When they worship Jesus in heaven, they attribute many things to Him. Praise, glory, and honor are due to Him, and He is worthy to receive this adoration. They also praise Him, saying He should receive strength and wisdom, which all come from Him.

They start with saying that Jesus is worthy to receive power and wealth. God has all wealth and all power, all honor, all strength, and all wisdom. If we are subject to the kingdom of God, we worship by acknowledging these are all His and that He is worthy.

Laying down our wealth, authority, and power to Him is part of our worship and acknowledging that He is worthy.

Quick Prayer: All wealth and honor are Yours, Lord. Amen.

“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.” (Psa 127:1)

There are many ways you can approach a problem, opportunity, or project, but when you boil it all down, there are only really two: your way or God’s way. There is a war in our flesh between the pull of the old nature, independent, proud, and rebellious, and the new nature, anointed and motivated by God.

If we proceed in our own strength, then we alone are responsible for the outcome, and God has to stay on the sidelines. If we do it His way, then He will build a strong foundation, bring lasting fruit, and protect what is His.

At the end of your life, all you did in your own strength will be burned up and all you did in God’s plan in His way will go with you into eternity. Now that’s worth thinking about.

Quick Prayer: Help me to do it Your way, Lord. Amen.
