“But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 AMP)

When we are at work, we sometimes assume that we can do it all ourselves—that somehow this is not God’s domain but ours. In our busy schedules, we find little time to contemplate on either God’s will or His agenda for our work day.

We trust in our own abilities, experience, and knowledge, and they probably serve us quite well most of the time. But there is another way where we will be anointed, appointed, and empowered by God.

When we ask the Holy Spirit to empower us, we receive power, ability, efficiency, and might. These four gifts are to achieve our purpose, and we will be witnesses for Him not only in our own city but also throughout the world.

Quick Prayer: Fill me afresh, Holy Spirit, and empower me to do Your work. Amen.
