“This is what the Sovereign Lord says: You have gone far enough, princes of Israel! Give up your violence and oppression and do what is just and right. Stop dispossessing my people, declares the Sovereign Lord.” (Eze 45:9)
Justice and righteousness? Are these words we would use regularly in the workplace? I don’t think I have heard them uttered recently in any meetings I have been in, yet they are high on God’s agenda. He wants to see us walk in them at work.
We are called to do what is just and right. He wants leaders to do the right thing and managers to do the correct thing. They are not necessarily the same thing. Sometimes they are, but it is the way in which they are executed that makes them just and right.
We can bring correction or an alternative view while honoring others, or we can be dogmatic and judgmental. Are you walking in justice and righteousness? It may only be in manner, but God sees the attitudes of the heart.
Quick Prayer: Show me where I am oppressing anyone, and forgive all my shortcomings. Amen.
