“I do not sit with the deceitful, nor do I associate with hypocrites.” (Psa 26:4)

The church’s—that’s us, by the way—mission is to reach the lost. In order to do that, we have to be a part of their lives. Building a bastion on the hill and raising the drawbridge is not productive.

We should be mixing it up with all kinds of people and not just be isolated in a protective holy enclave. However, there is a closeness of relationship that comes with strong influences. We become like those we surround ourselves with. Making sure we are walking closely with people we respect is important. People who purport to have faith but don’t live it and don’t produce fruit in keeping with repentance should not be our closest confidants.

Quick Prayer: Keep my friendships true. Amen.
