Double Portion Please

“Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.” (Isa 61:7)

I love this word; it is such an encouragement to me. Here is a wonderful and endearing picture of the heart of God to restore. He will take our shame and replace it with a blessing double the size of what was lost.

He will take the disgrace we may have experienced, and it will be replaced with rejoicing in the abundance of His blessing and provision. If you have experienced failure at work, there is hope in these words.

Not only will we receive twice as much as we would have originally had things gone well, but the joy will be everlasting. It will be a blessing not only for this world but for the one beyond out into eternity for ever and ever—blessing, abundance, and joy.

Quick Prayer: Thank You that failure does not preclude a great blessing. Amen.

Redemption

“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors.” (1 Pet 1:18)

We were bought with an incredible price. The blood of Jesus is the most precious commodity in all time and in all eternity. With the spilling of that blood, we were redeemed from eternal banishment, and that sacrifice ushered us into the presence of God, free from sin and death.

How much does God value you if He would not spare His only Son to secure your salvation? You were so precious to Him that He redeemed you to Himself not with mere gold or silver but with the most precious substance in the universe.

It was a massive price to pay, but it reflects the love God has for you.

Quick Prayer: Thank You for the sacrifice You made for me, Jesus. Amen.
