“Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.” (Mat 5:25)
If you are in business or in any level of authority in the workplace, there will be disagreements and even legal threats. How are we to face these things, and what should our response be?
We are advised to settle quickly to make sure we don’t expose ourselves to greater consequences. There are two options; we are either right or wrong. However, regardless of our view of the situation, we should not place ourselves at risk in court unnecessarily.
Pride can be a great motivator, and it will drive us to push to the limits whether we are right or wrong. The consequences of letting this dangerous emotion get the better of us are self-evident.
Quick Prayer: I will settle if I can as quickly as I can. Amen.
