“Laban said to him, ‘Just because you are a relative of mine, should you work for me for nothing? Tell me what your wages should be.’” (Gen 29:15)

There is nothing wrong in negotiating. Don’t mistake humility with vulnerability. We are not called to be doormats while we love and serve those around us. If you provide a valuable service or product, ensuring you are well rewarded is an important part of unlocking resources for you and those around you.

Likewise if you are a skilled worker who does a great job serving God with integrity and excellence, ensure you are well rewarded and compensated for your productivity. Linking outcomes to reward is a great way to ensure a share of advantage and blessing. Ask God for insight and favor before you negotiate; He may well surprise you with the outcome.

Quick Prayer: Give me wisdom in my negotiation and a boldness to ask. Amen.
