“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.” (Ecc 9:10)
We only pass by this world once. We are not reincarnated, remade, or recycled. It is appointed to men to live once, and then comes judgment. This day, when it is gone, cannot be redeemed, and it is one less day you are here on the earth.
How then should we respond to this truth? How should it make us live? How does this self-evident truth affect us and how we should approach our work?
In Ecclesiastes it says we should work with all our might; these are strong words but not unreasonable when you look from an eternal perspective. So whatever your hand finds to do today, do it with all you’ve got, because you won’t be here in this moment again.
Quick Prayer: I will work hard to complete this task You have given me. Amen.
