“They did not require an accounting from those to whom they gave the money to pay the workers, because they acted with complete honesty.” (2 Kin 12:15)
Acting with honesty is often seen as a selfless act that is more about governing our own moral compass rather than any impact on others. However, when we act in a way that shows honesty and integrity, we create confidence in those who observe our behaviour.
There is witness and testimony in complete honesty that results in respect and trust. When we demonstrate these characteristics, we will be given more responsibility and authority, as trust is a rare commodity.
Our reputations are built on the observation of our behavior, not in the motivations that produce them. Yet the behaviors can trigger the question of why we are acting in the way we do. That is the opportunity to share the foundation that underpins our faith.
Quick Prayer: Build my reputation so that I am held in complete trust, Lord. Amen.
